Already Registered in Another Province

Pharmacy technicians registered in another province in Canada may register as a pharmacy technician in PEI and are required to meet the following requirements for registration:


Submit Application
Complete the Pharmacy Technican Initial Application and submit to the PEI College of Pharmacists with the $450.00 registration fee.  The fee can be paid through email money transfer to info@pepharmacists.ca, by cash, or by cheque payable to the PEI College of Pharmacists.  When submitting the application, a username and password will be created.  This username and password is used to access the member area of the PEI College of Pharmacists website.  

Please note: All of the required documents below must be submitted to the PEI College of Pharmacists office in the original format.  A copy will be made and the original documents returned.  

Letter of Standing
Applicants are required to submit a letter of standing from any and all regulatory bodies for which they held a registration.
 Please contact each regulatory body to request that the PEI College of Pharmacists letter of standing form be completed and forwarded directly to the PEI College of Pharmacists office.

Personal Professional Liability Insurance
Applicants must show evidence of personal professional liability insurance with their application.  Please select the link below for more information on the liability insurance requirements.

Proof of Identity
Submit proof of identity with either, 1) a passport or 2) a birth certificate or Canadian citizenship certificate and a piece of government issued photo identification. 

Criminal Record
Submit the original results of a criminal record background check with a vulnerable sector check completed within one year of the application.  See Criminal Record Checks for more details.

English Language Proficiency
Applicants must meet English Language Proficiency requirements in accordance with the Policy on English Language Proficiency Requirements for Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians

Jurisprudence Exam
Successfully complete the PEI jurisprudence exam.  The exam application can be found in the member are of the PEI College of Pharmacists website.  The jurisprudence exam is written twice a year in the spring and fall.  The cost of the exam is $105.00.  A special sitting can be arranged for a date and time that is suitable to both the applicant and the PEI College of Pharmacists.  The cost for a special sitting is $210.00.
