Registration as a General Pharmacist
Transferring from Another Canadian Jurisdiction
The requirements for General Registration are set out in the Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician Regulations. A pharmacist registered in another Canadian jurisdiction may apply for registration in Prince Edward Island. The applicant is eligible to be registered in an equivalent category to which they are registered in another Canadian jurisdiction.
Unless otherwise specified, all documentation must be received by the PEI College of Pharmacy in its original form or as a notarized copy. Original documents may be presented to the PEI College of Pharmacy office to be copied by staff.
A registration checklist is available for applicants to download to assist in registration as a General Pharmacist.
Applicants currently registered in another Canadian jurisdiction must fill out the Initial Pharmacist Application form.
Proof of Identity
Submit proof of identity with either a passport OR a birth certificate or Canadian citizenship certificate and a piece of government-issued photo identification.
Letter of Standing
Applicants are required to submit a letter of standing from any and all regulatory bodies where they hold a registration. Please contact each regulatory body to request that the PEI College of Pharmacy Letter of Standing form be completed and forwarded directly to the PEI College of Pharmacy office.
Regular sittings of the jurisprudence exam are held at the PEICP office. Special sittings can also be arranged.
