Current PEI Provisional Pharmacy Technicians

The requirements for General Registration are set out in the Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician Regulations.

Unless otherwise specified, all documentation must be received by the PEI College of Pharmacy in its original form or as a notarized copy. Original documents may be presented to the PEI College of Pharmacy office to be copied by staff.

Application Form

Current provisional pharmacy technicians may apply for registration in the General Class by accessing the application form found in their registrant profile.

Completion of PEBC Qualifying Exams, Part I and II

Applicants must submit either a letter from PEBC or a certificate confirming successful completion of PEBC Qualifying exams. The letter or certificate may be uploaded to the registrant profile.

Completion of Post-Graduate Structured Practical Training Program

Applicants and preceptors must submit the required documentation to the PEICP office in person, by fax or by email.

Professional Liability Insurance

The professional liability insurance policy must be in accordance with section 40 of the Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician Regulations. The policy certificate may be uploaded to the applicant’s registrant profile. If the policy certificate is not immediately available, a paid receipt showing the expiry date of the policy and the policy amount is accepted in the interim. Please ensure that the evidence of professional liability insurance you submitted with your application for provisional registration is up to date.

Criminal Record Check

The PEI College of Pharmacy Criminal Record Check Policy requires that applicants submit the results of an Extended Police Information Check (EPIC) that has been completed within 3 months of application. An EPIC is valid for a period of 5 years once on file with the College providing there has not been a break in registration. At the discretion of the College, registrants may be selected to provide an additional EPIC before their expiration date.

The College has partnered with MyBackCheck.com to provide criminal record checks for registration with PEICP. Select the link below to request a record check.
